Making Jewish education safe and accessible for our community!

Through the fall Combined Jewish Appeal (CJA) Campaign we’ll be focusing on some of our agencies and the amazing ways they have pulled together for our community during these times. It seems appropriate in September to begin with the Gray Academy of Jewish Education.

Last spring, within 48 hours of a government-mandated closure, Gray Academy of Jewish Education launched Gray Away, a virtual learning platform that allowed students to log onto classes with their teachers every day for a full schedule of learning and vital connection to their school community.

This fall, Gray Academy re-opened for all students from JK to Grade 12 for full days of in-class learning five days a week. This means that classrooms have been configured for physical distancing; the use of student cohorts; staggered start and end times; and new routines to support increased hand hygiene, cleaning and sanitization. To facilitate all of these critical measures, Gray Academy has taken on costs above and beyond expectations, including expenses for PPE, additional technology to support distance learning, and increasing demand for bursaries from families impacted by the pandemic. But because of you, no child will be left behind. To learn more visit https://grayacademy.ca/covid-19-protocols/
