March of the Living Chaperone Application

Thank you for your interest in the 2020 Winnipeg March of the Living.

 
Chaperones represent the Jewish Community in Winnipeg, serve as a role model to the students, and are responsible for the well-being of each participant. In the best interest of our students, we seek a balance of age, gender and Jewish affiliation in order to create a well-rounded program.
 

Please read carefully as it contains important information:  

 
To be considered for a MOL Chaperone candidate, the following information must be submitted:
 
  • A one page letter of interest explaining why you would like to be a chaperon and what you feel you can offer to the program.
  • A completed application (form below) including the following:
    • Contact information
    • Emergency Contact Information
    • Background Information
    • Reference Information 

Your application will NOT be considered without each of the items in the form below.

 
Applications for the 2020 Winnipeg March of the Living are due IN FULL BY May 1, 2019.
 
Chaperones must be able to make a personal time commitment for all MOL programs. This includes:
 
  • 8-10 evenings dedicated to pre-trip seminars and gatherings/meetings
  • A Shabbaton that takes place from Friday-Sunday morning (dates to be determined)
  • 1-2 meetings on a Sunday
  • A mandatory Chaperone Training Weekend (dates to be determined – early December 2019)
  • The March of the Living (dates subject to change) April 17-May 3, 2020.
  • Programs following the trip
 

PLEASE NOTE: The cost of the 2020 program is unknown at this time. The Federation has limited funds for subsidies and most are required for students. Moving forward as a chaperone, please note that you will be required to contribute to the cost of the March.
