The University of Manitoba’s Judaic Studies Program promotes the study of Jewish and Israeli civilization, archaeology and history, religious expressions and traditions, and cultural, social, and political formations and movements in all their variety. Course mofferings include classes in Archaeology, Bible and Talmud, Kabbalah and Hasidism, modern Judaism, Yiddish culture, German-Jewish history and the Holocaust, and Middle East Politics, as well as, language instruction in Hebrew, Yiddish, and Arabic. Students can take these classes towards a Minor in Judaic Studies and the Program hopes to also offer a Judaic Studies Major again in the future.
