The Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre is a faith-based, non-profit organization dedicated to providing shelter and a continuum of client-focused quality care and support services to the elders of the Jewish community. Guided by the core Jewish of Jewish values (Kedushah/sanctity, Derech Eretz/respect and Kavod/honour), the organization, in close collaboration with the community, strives to improve the quality of life for all who use its services. The Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre is a fully accredited personal care home that continually strives to improve in the delivery of health and social services to the elderly and their caregivers. They provide care that emphasizes and capitalizes on the individual strengths of each client and family member and embraces the notion of autonomy. They protect the interests of the elderly and advocate on their behalf by assuming a leadership role, working cooperatively with others to improve health and social service policy.
The Simkin Centre provides personal care for 200 residents, as well as adult day programs.
