Irma Penn School of Jewish Learning

Under the guidance of our Rabbi and School Director, children are exposed to the cultural, social, historical and ethical aspects of Judaism. The curriculum includes the Jewish life cycle, holidays, festivals, Shabbat, Hebrew, blessings and synagogue skills. Classes are Wednesday after school and Sunday mornings.

 

Adult Education

Adult Education at Temple Shalom includes Introduction to Judaism courses,

Adult Hebrew classes, special skills classes (for example, how to do a seder),

Saturday morning Torah study, and adult bar/bat mitzvah programs. For adolescent

young women, there is the specially designed program, “It’s a girl thing”.
