This program is an extension of the G.R.O.W. in Gimli model. G.R.O.W. in Winnipeg is a transitional day program for young adults with special needs who have completed high school. The program focuses on life skills, social skills and pre- vocational skills, in preparation for independent living. The program prepares the family for the transition to independent/cooperative living and facilitates the natural growth of the individual. Each individual sets goals and experiential learning takes place with a focus on making choices, healthy eating, recreation, socialization and activities for daily living. The program also has an outreach program that takes place on two Saturdays a month. The participants engage in community outings and social skills readiness.
