G.R.O.W. in Gimli is a summer program for young adults with special needs that
provides an opportunity to learn skills for independent living. G.R.O.W. is targeted at
young adults between the ages of 18-24 with cognitive or developmental disabilities.
The program prepares the family for the transition to independent/cooperative living
and facilitates the natural growth of the individual. Each individual sets goals and
experiential learning takes place with a focus on making choices, healthy eating,
socialization and activities for daily living. The G.R.O.W. program was developed by the GROW Advisory Committee of the Persons with Disabilities Steering Committee of the Jewish Federation of
