Congregation Etz Chayim, formed in 2002 as a result of the amalgamation of three synagogues, was the focal point of Jewish life in Winnipeg’s north end. Etz Chayim is an egalitarian Conservative congregation committed to prayer and spirituality, learning and tradition, and acts of loving kindness. Etz Chayim offers a friendly environment for individuals and families to express their Judaism through an array of social, cultural and educational programs, and provides a warm, supportive environment to celebrate their life-cycle events.

We have our new home located at 1155 Wilkes Ave, in the heart of the Jewish Community.
Children activities: The place to be on Shabbat mornings where we engage our youth in the spirit of Shabbat through song, prayer, and discussion tailored to them. Children discuss the Torah portion of the week or the holiday that is approaching in a lively and interactive way. Congregation Etz Chayim also offers many other programs for youth throughout the year including, our B’nai Mitzvah preparation program, teen-led Shabbatons, and much more.

Etz Chayim Mitzvah Minds: Students in Kindergarten to Grade 4 are invited to the Cantor and the exceptional trained staff, for this exciting ritual learning opportunity. We will explore Torah, T’fillah (prayer), song and Mitzvot. Students will also begin the adventure into the special language of ‘Torah Trope’ – the code for reading Torah in the ancient melodies.
