About the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA)
What CIJA Does
The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) is the advocacy agent of Jewish Federations of Canada-UIA, representing Jewish Federations across Canada.
Working in partnership with Jewish Federations and non-federated Jewish communities, CIJA identifies issues important to Canada’s Jewish community, including fighting antisemitism, strengthening the Canada-Israel friendship, and protecting the quality of Jewish life in Canada.
CIJA then implements strategies to ensure that leaders in government, media, civil society, business, and academia understand the Jewish community’s perspective and that it is considered in Canada’s public policy discussion.
As the Canadian affiliate of the World Jewish Congress, representative to the Claims Conference and to the World Jewish Restitution Organization, and a member of the J7 Global Task Force to Fight Antisemitism, CIJA is also connected to an international network of Jewish community agencies.
