The Jewish Federation of Winnipeg is seeking a Marketing & Communications Coordinator to support storytelling, digital engagement, and community-facing communications that strengthen connection across Winnipeg’s Jewish community and build meaningful ties with Jewish communities in Israel and around the world.
About the Role
This intermediate-level position is ideal for a marketing and communications professional who is a strong writer, eager to learn, and motivated by meaningful, mission-driven work. Reporting to the Public Relations & Communications Director, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator will work closely with colleagues, volunteers, and partner organizations to help bring the Federation’s stories to life across digital, print, media, and event platforms.

Key Responsibilities
Content Creation
- Write, edit, and adapt content for emails, social media, website, digital ads, campaigns, and print materials.
- Create and share storytelling that highlights community impact, donor-supported work, beneficiary voices, and Federation priorities.
- Assist with feature writing and short-form content for regular communications such as the weekly Federation Flash email publication.
Social Media
- Create, schedule, and manage social media content across platforms.
- Maintain the social content calendar and support themed or campaign-based initiatives.
- Monitor engagement and basic performance trends, identifying opportunities to broaden and deepen reach and improve clarity.
- Respond to messages and comments in a timely and professional manner.
- Support rapid communications during urgent or sensitive moments, including occasional work outside of regular working hours.
Website Support
- Maintain website content related to campaigns, programs, and community initiatives.
- Assist with content organization and editing as part of the Federation’s website redevelopment efforts.
- Help ensure content is current, accessible, and aligned with brand and messaging standards.
External Communications Support
- Respond to inquiries sent via the Federation’s website.
- Assist with drafting and coordinating press materials and interviews.
Event Support
- Provide communications support for specific day/evening or weekend events, including promotion, content creation, and on-site capture when needed
Strategic Partnership
- Collaborate within the Marketing and Communications team to implement the multi-year strategy that aligns with organizational mission and growth plans.
- Support cross-departmental communications initiatives to ensure alignment and consistency.
- Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Provide staff back-up and team support as needed.
Operations and Logistics
- Manage a variety of administrative tasks to support the Marketing and Communications Team.
- Work within budget for related activities, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Manage time and use of tools and projects efficiently to maximize positive outcomes.

Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in creative communications, marketing, or a related field, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Strong writing, editing, and content development skills across platforms.
- Knowledge of the Jewish community, its institutions, and the issues it faces.
- Collaborative and team-oriented, with the ability to build strong working relationships across the organization.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities with professionalism and discretion.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends during events or urgent situations.
