Development Associate
Jewish Federation of Winnipeg is seeking a Development Associate who will work collaboratively within a highly dedicated team of fundraising professionals and lay leaders to move our annual fundraising efforts forward, guided by the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg’s mission:
Act as the representative body of the Winnipeg Jewish Community, building and sustaining a strong, secure and connected community rooted in Jewish values.
Full-time position reporting to the Chief Development Officer
Salary Range: $47,500-52,500 plus a comprehensive benefit package
What you bring to the job:
- Enthusiasm for excellent customer service, teamwork, and relationship building
- Natural ability to communicate for a cause
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and work independently and effectively
- Exceptional communications (written, verbal, editing) and interest in creative writing (newsletters, fundraising appeals, etc.)
- Experience with MS Office (excel and word)
- Interest in ongoing learning (including new technology and systems)
The extras we would welcome:
- Post-Secondary education or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Experience working with volunteers
- Willingness to bring forward ideas and apply learnings into daily work
- Experience with large database management systems
- Experience with mass email communication platforms such as MailChimp
- Knowledge of the Jewish community and traditions
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the development team to create concept and write impactful fundraising communications
- Work collaboratively with the development team on fundraising strategies, donor solicitation, events, and volunteer engagement
- Fulfill essential administrative responsibilities including record management, letters, presentations, meeting and event logisitics
