In this intimate show, multi-award winning stage and cabaret performer Gabi Epstein shares her own journey of self-discovery using reimagined, rearranged versions of Barbra Streisand’s greatest hits. Hailed “Canada’s Queen of Cabaret” by CTV, Gabi Epstein is a DORA AWARD winner and one of Canada's leading stage/cabaret performers best known for playing Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors at the Stratford Festival, and Fanny Brice in Funny Girl at the Segal Centre and for the Harold Green Jewish Theatre. Winnipeg audiences may remember Gabi from her 2017 stint in Little Shop of Horrors at Rainbow Stage. Gabs Sings Babs debuted at the Toronto Jazz Festival and has subsequently been performed at the Segal Centre, Globus Theatre, and the Port Stanley Festival Theatre. Accompanied by Mark Camilleri, the intimate and heartwarming show promises to leave you laughing and singing along! For both evening performances, join local music historian, author, and Order of Manitoba recipient John Einarson for a pre-show chat about Barbra Streisand's brief yet controversial appearance in Winnipeg in July 1961 and learn why she was fired after a mere three days into a two week engagement. John will address many longstanding rumours about Ms. Streisand's time in Winnipeg in this fascinating presentation.
