Lisa was adopted and raised in a Jewish family in Winnipeg. Unbeknownst to her adoptive parents, she had been placed into the adoption system during the sixties scoop. As an adult, she connected with her biological family and learnt the truth, she was taken from their mother at birth because she was a single Metis woman.
Today, Lisa continues to carry on the traditions of her Jewish heritage, while proudly discovering and integrating those of her Indigenous roots.
