Rochelle Squires is a recovering politician after serving seven-and-a-half years in the Manitoba Legislature as MLA for Riel and Minister of Families, Municipal Relations, Sustainable Development, and Sport, Culture, and Heritage.

She also held responsibilities for the Gender Equity (formerly Status of Women) and Francophone Affairs.
