JCFS is honoured to be the first organization to screen this award-winning documentary in Winnipeg
which aims to shine light on the reality of suicide, and bring hope to those
struggling with suicidal intention. The film touches on the pain of loss, the questions that are left, but most
importantly the many options available to those who can still be saved. The film highlights the strength of
survivors, and this is what’s most important. Equal parts prevention and empowerment, the first ever
suicide-focused program from JCFS strives to lift the veil of stigma and shame from not only the
epidemic, but the word itself. Our hope is that by showing this film, the community will be able to speak
more openly about suicide, thus relieving any tensions and smashing any stigmas associated with this
legitimate community concern.
