On June 27, 1976, a plane carrying 248 passengers en route from Paris to Tel Aviv was hijacked by 4 terrorists. The plane is directed to Entebbe International Airport in Uganda where the ruler provides support and protection to the hijackers as they await the response to their demands from the Israeli government. On June 29 all 148 non-Jewish hostages were released. The hijackers threaten to kill Jewish hostages if their demands are not met. On July 4, 1976, Operation Entebbe is ordered operational. Tonight, you will hear its story from Rami Sherman – someone who was there.
