Winnipeg playwright & author Primrose Madayag Knazan will discuss the intersection of Filipino and Jewish cultural identity in her writing. Her latest play, Precipice, winner of the 2021 Canadian Jewish Playwriting Competition, dives into a woman’s conversion to Judaism, how ritual brings her family together, and a journey that takes her to the Philippines to follow a story of Jewish survival. Primrose’s first novel, Lessons in Fusion, has been nominated for several literary awards including the Manitoba Book Award for Best First Book, the Manitoba Young Reader’s Choice Award, and the Willow Awards Saskatchewan
