~~On Sunday November 18th, 2018, National Council for Jewish Women of Winnipeg will be hosting Mitzvah Day.

Mitzvah Day is a day members from the Jewish Community and abroad come together to volunteer their time and energy in the spirit of Tikkun Olam (“repairing the world”) in order to help others.  It is a day about giving back to the community, one good deed at a time, no matter how big or how small the gesture.

Mitzvah Days have been done in the UK and Ottawa for several years.  Some of the projects they have done have been making lap blankets/ hand warmers for the ALS society, making and distributing resource kits to shelters across Ontario, and bagging and distributing boxed lunches to homeless people in the Ontario community.  A number of organizations in these communities have come together to make this day a success.
