Meir Serfaty was born and grew up in Melilla, Spain and developed a passion for studying politics as a youth during the Franco regime. Lack of political freedom led him to pursue his university education abroad. Dr Serfaty was Professor of Political Science at Brandon University, where he held numerous administrative posts including Director of International Activities, and Vice President Academic and Research, prior to his retirement in 2019.
