We close the season with the BRANDON GOLDBERG TRIO on April 15-16, with an extraordinarily gifted young pianist in the lead. Goldberg just turned 16, but has been grabbing the attention of critics and audiences across North America in recent years. He’s a three-time winner in the Jazz Soloist and Original Composition categories of Downbeat’s Student Music Awards, and has also won the Jazz Arrangement category. Last year, he received the Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer award. Let’s Play!, Goldberg’s first album, was released in 2019 and garnered four-star ratings in Downbeat and All about Jazz. His new recording, In Good Time, released in 2021, was praised in Downbeat for “unassailable technique, advanced harmonic understanding, a deep sense of swing and, most impressively, a clarity and plethora of ideas executed to near-perfection.” We’re so fortunate to witness this young prodigy’s meteoric rise!
