Prompting heated debate among politicians, community members, and activists, homeless encampments (“tent cities”) have become the most glaring manifestation of Canada’s “homelessness crisis.” Why do unhoused community members erect, join, and/or live in encampments?
This talk will provide suggestions for relevant municipal policies and practices addressing homeless encampments.
