Canadian Associates of Ben-Gurion Univeristy (CABGU) will be hosting the ‘Unorthodox’ National Virtual Gala for Brain Research’ on Wednesday, July 7th, 2021, at 5:45 pm ET, 4:45 pm CT and 2:45 pm PT. An Encore presentation will be shared with western Canada participants at 7:30 pm PT. We are also excited to announce that acclaimed Emmy and Golden Globe Award Nominee and the star of the popular Netfix series ‘Shtisel’ and ‘Unorthodox’ Shira Haas will be our featured speaker.
The event will raise money for the newly created “Canada Fund to Advance Brain Research” at BGU. The fund will support neurodegenerative diseases research at the Zlotowski Centre for Neuroscience including research about Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, ALS, Dementia and Strokes. Proceeds raised will support special research projects, undergraduate scholarships and graduate fellowships, conferences and workshops, as well as the purchase of equipment and more.
