“Forgotten Refugees”
And WordSwap
Wednesday
March 21st
7:30 pm
Berney Theatre

The documentary film, “The Forgotten Refugees”, is the award-winning story of the almost one million Jews ethnically cleansed from Arab lands. The film will be followed by a presentation by members of the WordSwap project, now in Winnipeg, to bring Israel to our campuses and schools.

WordSwap is a unique StandWithUs Canada initiative for Israel education and advocacy. This will be their first time in Winnipeg. For the past 4 years, these annual teams have toured campuses in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Kingston, and Ontario schools.

StandWithUs Israel office chooses our WordSwap members and trains Israelis from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds including Bedouins, Druze, and Muslims to engage Canadian students in conversations beyond the conflict. Their mission is to educate and support Israel and to enable dialogue with people so that they can get to know Israel for what it really is - a complex, diverse and beautiful country.

Past visits have had astounding results on campuses. The members of the WordSwap team are accessible, friendly, and arrive on campuses with free coffee and fortune-cookies with facts about Israel to distribute to students in order to engage them in conversations - in Arabic, Hebrew, and English.

Please share with your friends and contact lists.

We would like to give our Israeli delegation a warm Winnipeg welcome!
