On Friday evening November 3rd and Shabbat morning, November 4th, 2017, Congregation Shaarey Zedek will be hosting Rabbi Steven Blane for a Scholar in Residence Shabbat to install our new Rabbis Leibl and Mass. Rabbi Blane is a Universalist rabbi and cantor, who conducts his teaching and pastoral work online. He is the founder and dean of the Jewish Spiritual Leaders Institute (JSLI), an online, one-year rabbinical school, and founder and spiritual leader of Sim Shalom Synagogue, an interactive Universalist cyber-synagogue that offers live weeknight and Shabbat synagogue services to an international community.

Events will include a Kabbalat Shabbat service lead by Rabbi Blane followed by a delicious Friday night dinner with entertainment by the Dor Chadash singers and our clergy.

​On Shabbat morning Rabbi Blane along with Rabbi Green will install our new Rabbis during the Shabbat service which will be followed by a kiddush lunch and a Torah Lechayim learning session lead by Rabbi Blane.
