Federation and Our Connection to Israel

As a Federation, we have a special connection to Israel.
Through our Combined Jewish Appeal (CJA), we support educational, social service, immigration and integration programs, and services of the Jewish Agency for Israel. Our Campaign dollars also assist Jews in distressed communities, including Argentina and the former Soviet Union.

Federation also organizes regular missions to Israel. We not only encourage our own leadership and community members to participate in these incredible missions, we encourage the involvement of the general community, business leadership, political figures and various affinity groups who may be interested in forging their own relationships with Israel.

We are also connected through our “gesher chai”/ “Living Bridge” program with our Partnership 2000 (P2K) region in the Upper Galilee. This initiative has established ongoing relationships between our schools and community centres, including reciprocal visits.

Providing our youth with an opportunity to connect to our heritage is paramount. We, therefore, proudly support and encourage participation in Taglit-birthright israel. We advocate for our homeland, celebrate it annually during community-wide Yom Haatzma’ut programming, connect our highschool students to our history through March of the Living and support the Israel Experience Centre that provides the public with information and its own special connections for programs, services and aliyah.
