Chesed Ha Emet at Hebrew Sick Cemetery

JPEG’s Tikkun Olam Committee is organized its third annual Chesed Ha Emet (a good deed which cannot be repaid). On August 22, JPEG volunteers cleaned and restored headstones at the Hebrew Sick Benefit Association of Winnipeg Cemetery.

“Club Fed” Graduates 32 New Young Community Volunteers

It was a night of celebration and recognition for 32 of J-PEG’s newest group of up and coming community leaders. On June 14, the 2010 graduating class gathered at the home of Federation Vice-President, Israel Ludwig, and were acknowledged & thanked by several Federation leaders for their dedication to learning more about the Federation and the wider Jewish community which it represents. J-PEG Receives JCFS Award!

On June 2, J-PEG received a “Mitzvah Award” from Jewish Child & Family Service at its annual general meeting, in recognition for its assistance with its annual Passover hamper delivery program to families in need. J-PEG is proud to receive this award and will continue to participate in Tikkun Olam events helping our community. To make a difference and get involved in our social action programs, email Samantha.

2010 Young Leadership Award Winners

Kol Hakavod to this year’s Young Leadership Award Winners!  Lindsay Sawyer Fay is the recipient of the Harry Silverberg Leadership Development Award and Richard Buchwald is the recipient of the Max Nathanson Young Leadership Award.  Lindsay and Richard were presented with their awards at the Federation’s Kavod Evening on Wednesday, May 26th at Shaarey Zedek Synagogue.
