Introducing the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs –
Representing and Supporting the Jewish Community of Canada

Following comprehensive consultations with stakeholders across the country and in partnership with the Federations of Canada and United Israel Appeal, Jewish advocacy in Canada has been reorganized into one consolidated, dynamic organization.

The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs is now the central headquarters for strategic advice, expert support, and information for Jewish and pro-Israel advocacy in Canada. The new organization is responsible for all activities previously administered Canadian Jewish Congress, the Canada-Israel Committee, Quebec Jewish Congress, the Quebec-Israel Committee and the University Outreach Committee.

With offices in Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Winnipeg and Jerusalem; the staff includes more than forty dedicated professionals with an extraordinary range of experience in government, media, and community relations. As an integrated team, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs will deal with the full range of issues of Jewish communal concern including Canadian public policy, Canada-Israel relations, Campus and anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism.

The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs will work closely and in concert with its local partners in the Jewish Federations and non-federated communities to create a new level of engagement and grassroots cooperation. Understanding that every community has unique needs, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs will focus its energy and expertise on assisting local partners, and enhancing their capacity to service Canada’s diverse Jewish community.

The predecessor organizations, including Canadian Jewish Congress and the Canada-Israel Committee exemplified advocacy for the Jewish community and Canadian society as a whole.  The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs will honour and continue that legacy, providing leadership for the community with dignity, pride, passion and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
