Public Yom Hashoah Commemorative Service

On Yom Hashoah, Thursday, May 1st at noon over 350 attended a moving Yom Hashoah Commemorative program at the Holocaust Monument on the grounds of the legislature. Premier Gary Doer, Mayor Sam Katz, students from Gray Academy and Margaret Park School as well as Zane Zalis and his Prodigy group all took part in the poignant program. Watch for photo gallery.

March of the Living Participants in Israel

Thirty-three Winnipeg students are participating in this year’s March of the Living program. Students completed the Poland leg of the program and are now poised to celebrate Yom Haatzmaut in Israel. CJPAC Executives Visit Winnipeg

CJPAC (Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee), a unique national, grassroots, independent organization whose mandate is to engage the community in the political process, was invited to Winnipeg April 10-11th to develop awareness and initiate the process of setting up a regional Board of Directors.
